Important stuff? Yes. Should you do anything? No. Here’s why…
Remember when we introduced the external click ID token? Turns out some affiliates thought the [external_source_clickID] token matches the parameter name on the promo tools traffic outgoing URLs without using the customization tab and applying the variables from their source to the promo tool URLs. Well, parameter and token name did not match. But now do. Like all the rest of them combinations.
Please note we have renamed [external_source_clickID] to [external_clickid] to match the parameter name on your promo tool URLs.
You do not need to worry. Daddy is here! Your already configured postbacks were changed. In Bulk. At once. Immediately after the decision was made. They fire correctly. And… From now on please use [external_clickid] as your click ID token. Just like it says on every page about this feature, just like the parameter name, which takes the value on every hit of the promo tools you put out there.
Thanks, wysinwyg, for noticing! Keep up the great work!
